Country Bouquet Slide and Lock Gatefold Card–Version 2

I hope you enjoyed the Slide and Lock Gatefold card I shared on Monday! I seriously can’t get enough of the Country Bouquet Stamp Set and Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper!!! So, are you ready to see how I “stepped up” the card from Monday???

As you can see, I added a very thin Real Red Cardstock layer behind the designer series paper. I ran out of Sweet Sorbet cardstock but Real Red was very close especially since I was using a small amount of it; Sweet Sorbet is a little softer.  I also upped the focal point to include more leaves and a Petal Pink heart in addition to the Sweet Sorbet one.

Plus I added a Real Red circle to the Slide and Lock Mechanism Focal Point.

And while I was stepping up the outside, I decided to step up the inside as well by layering my 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White cardstock onto a 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of Real Red cardstock! The sentiments are from the Pansy Patch stamp set.

Word of caution…On the first version I felt like the Slide and Lock mechanism was too loose so I tried using Thick Basic White cardstock for the solid circle on the back of the mechanism but it made it too tight so the opening buckles a little. I am sure by the time it is tortured in the mail, it will lie nice and flat!!!

Which is your favorite? I would love to know! And as I said in my post on Monday, these two cards are getting tucked away in my Birthday Card Organizer to be used at a later date!

Thank you for stopping by today!
