When Stampin’ Up! released the Flowering Zinnias Suite Collection in the Online Exclusives section of their website, I knew it was not just another flower collection of products! The Flowering Zinnias 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper is sooo stunningly beautiful it will make you happy just looking at it! My friend, Barb, gifted me six 6″ x 6″ squares of the Designer Series Paper before I was able to order my own. What I decided to do was challenge myself to see how many different cards I could make with just the squares Barb gifted me. And now that I have a couple packages of my own Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper, I am thinking about making a Sampler for my Craft Room! That would definitely brighten things up a bit! What do you think?
This is what I came up with! Eight gorgeous cards with only a few 1/4″ strips left for my scrap box and teeny tiny pieces that went in to garbage. How did I do?
When thinking how best to show you these cards, I decided to show them a few at a time so next week I will show a few more.
I did not have my Simply Zinnia Bundle yet so relied on flowers I could cut from the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper for most of the focal points on the cards. The card above is called a Fractured Card or Faux Shutter Card. I have been really enjoying these cards You can see more of them at this post.
I am pretty sure I CASEd (copy and share everything) this card from a fellow demonstrator but I cannot remember who. If this is your card, let me know and I will make sure you get the credit you deserve. I used the Timeworn Type Embossing Folder on this card to give it some amazing texture.
This card was probably the easiest of them all. I wish now that I had embossed the card front before adding the leaf panel and flowers but hey, sometimes we just need quick and easy, right??? The leafy panel was glued onto the card base front. Then I positioned the flowers that I fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper onto the card front and glued into place. The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals. I glued a 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ strip of the leafy Designer Series Paper along the right hand side inside the card to give it a finished look.
Which one is your favorite of these three? If you have any questions about these cards, please let me know in the comments or send me an email message.
Thank you for stopping by today!
