Last night was our monthly Happy Stampers Club! I always enjoy planning projects for these ladies and spending time with them! We had a small group last night and it was nice for all of us to sit around one table. When everyone comes we need two tables and sometimes a third! In July, we made two cards that were time-consuming (you can see them HERE and HERE) so this month I decided quick and easy was the way to go.
One of our projects last night was using the Tranquil Tulips stamp set that is a Hostess Only item in the 2017-2018 Annual Catalog!
The colors I used for this card are Fresh Fig, Garden Green and Whisper White. And check out that Garden Green Stitched Satin Ribbon! It is truly glorious and tying bows with it is so easy! I think you can see the texture of the ribbon a little better in this next picture.
For this card we just used the one color (Fresh Fig) to stamp the tulips. This is a two-step stamping process. You stamp the solid, lighter color first and then the more detailed stamp on top. Both of the stamps for the flower were stamped with full-strength color…no stamping off! The variations in color are built into the stamps to give it a watercolored effect! The tulips are beautiful stamped in two different colors also…think yellow and orange, two shades of blue, pink and red…the combinations are endless!
Of course no card is complete without a little something on the inside…
Now, I am going to tell on myself a little bit here! On the top right of the sentiment where it says “Sending Love”, I got a little outline of the stamp where it shouldn’t oughta be! Hmmm! Now what??? Fortunately there are some brilliant stampers out there who blog and do videos and I had learned from one of them (can’t remember who) to just take a fine sanding tool (block, nail file, super fine sandpaper) and lightly sand until that top layer of paper is removed and the ink is gone! Ta Da! It worked like a charm! Thank you, whoever you are!!! Sometimes the ink spot is small enough that you can cover with a stamped image or embellishment but this was a long skinny outline of the stamp! So, now you know!
