Card Ministry 101 Tea Together

Last week I went a little butterfly crazy and this week it’s all about teapots! I get started and then I want to see what the card will look like with this or that color and what if I did this with the flowers?! All lots of fun and creative! I wonder what would happen if I combined the teapots and butterflies??? Maybe next week:)

Usually I create a simple card and then see how I can embellish it a bit to give it more of a WOW but this week I created a WOW card and then looked to see how I could make it simple! I used the Tea Together stamp set which I received for free from my awesome upline Celia Cawthon who rewards me for meeting my goals!

As promised last week, I am using the same three sizes of paper that I used in last week’s Card Ministry 101…

Card Recipe:

  • Whisper White card stock base cut at 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”
  • Coastal Cabana card stock cut at 3 1/2” x 4 3/4”
  • Whisper White card stock cut at 3 1/4” x 4 1/2”
  • Tea Together stamp set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad
  • Stampin’ Blends for coloring

All of the images were stamped directly onto the 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Whisper White card stock. I then colored the images with Stampin’ Blends (Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Old Olive). The coloring could be done with whatever you have on hand…colored pencils, watercolor pencils, chalks, markers, or crayons! I didn’t use any punches, dies or embellishments; just card stock, stamps and ink! No special equipment required!

For this next card I stepped it up a bit but still didn’t use any special equipment so super easy to replicate, just a little more time involved.

Do I hear a WOW or two??? This card uses the same three sizes of paper but I used Designer Series Paper for the 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ layer. I chose to stamp the flowers on a separate sheet of Whisper White cardstock, color and cut out. Some of the flowers were attached with dimensionals to give them a little lift.

Card Recipe:

  • Daffodil Delight card stock base cut at 4 1/4” x 11”, scored at 5 1/2”
  • Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper cut at 3 1/2” x 4 3/4”
  • Whisper White card stock cut at 3 1/4” x 4 1/2”
  • Tea Together stamp set
  • Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad
  • Stampin’ Blends for coloring
  • Other: Dimensionals and Glitter Enamel Dots

If you’re asking why I use Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers to color, it’s because I am not good at coloring. The Stampin’ Blends make me feel like an artist. They are so smooth and blend so easily.

Mail It Monday will actually be on Tuesday this week because of the Presidents’ Day Holiday so I need to get these cards ready to pop in the mail!

So, what do you think of the Card Ministry 101 cards this week? This stamp set is a definite winner in my book and I will likely make several more cards this week before I put it away.

Thank you for stopping by and please let me know what you would like to see in my weekly Card Ministry 101 blog post. My wish is to show you that you can make easy, beautiful cards without all the fancy equipment…just cardstock, stamps and ink!
