I like butterflies and I have several stamp sets and dies and punches with butterflies. So when I saw the Butterfly Gala bundle in the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, my first thought was I.Don’t.Need.More.Butterlies! Then a visit or two to Pinterest and Instagram proved me wrong and I bought the Butterfly Gala bundle (the punch is not available till April but contact me if you want to know when it’s available). Then THIS happened…
I started making butterflies and I couldn’t stop! I made butterflies that I stamped with ink. I made butterflies that I colored with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I made butterflies that I sponged with color! I became obsessed!!!
Even my sheets of sponged butterflies were art worthy! So now, what to do with all those butterflies??? Trust me, I haven’t even made a dent in my butterfly stash but you might like to see these pretties!
The card above was inspired by one on Pinterest by Julie Scaparra. I like it but I thought it needed a little something more so…
This was my next attempt. I love the black outlines for the butterflies and Lemon Lime Twist is my absolute favorite Stampin’ Up! color!!! Both of these cards would be GREAT for Mail It Monday! Next, I found a YouTube video by Carolyn Bennie where she showed how to make some adorable bookmarks! BOOKMARKS!!! Why didn’t I think of that???
Carolyn showed how to make the one on the right and I decided to step out and make the one on the left! I plan to crop the tops with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch…or not! I haven’t really decided yet. What do you think?
I have a lot more projects coming up with the Butterfly Gala Bundle (stamp set and punch) but that’s enough for today!
Have a great weekend! Hopefully you have less snow than I do! I hope you get a chance to be creative this weekend…make fun and pretty things.
Thanks for stopping by! Please join me on Monday for Card Ministry 101.
