I love when I find a card fold that you can use several different ways. Recently I watched a YouTube video by Claire Ottaway, one of my favorite UK Stampin’ Up! demonstrators. She is amazing; very talented. She showed six cards using the same Z Fold as the cards I am showing on this post!
In January and February, Stampin’ Up! had their Annual Sale-A-Bration event where you earned free product with qualifying purchases. I got two packages of the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper shown on the cards below.
The card fold is a Z Fold. I cut the Lost Lagoon cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″, then score at 5 1/2″ and 2 3/4″. Fold the 2 3/4″ piece back (mountain fold) and the 5 1/2″ score line forward (valley fold) and you have the base for the two cards I made for this post plus several more. I matted my designer series paper with Pretty Peacock cardstock.
This shows the card open with a place to write your message that is hidden when closed by the front focal panel. I hand cut (fussy cut) all of the tools from the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from He’s All That stamp set.
This second card is the exact same fold but it sure doesn’t look like it does it? This time I cut the Poppy Parade cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″, then score at 5 1/2″ and 2 3/4″. Fold the 2 3/4″ piece back (mountain fold) and the 5 1/2″ score line forward (valley fold) and turned the card landscape. Then I cut another piece of Poppy Parade cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and glued it just to the 2 3/4″ strip on the Z fold. I matted all my designer series paper pieces with Smokey Slate cardstock. I cut a slit in the Designer Series Paper to slip the tools into. The sentiment is also from He’s All That stamp set cut out a die from the All That dies. The fussy cut saw is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to provide a stopper for the front of the card making it an Easel Card.
There is plenty of room to write on the inside or you could add another sentiment.
If you weren’t able to get the Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper during Sale-A-Bration, you can still create this card with the stamps and dies bundle called Trusty Tools. This is the perfect bundle to make cards for the handy men in your life.
