Last week I had a Stampin’ Up! workshop (party) with a fun group of ladies called The Divine Order of the Tadah Stamping Hoods! Trust me, the ladies are as fun as the name!!! We had sooo much fun! I want to share the cards with you that we made last week because they are really cute!!!
Yesterday was a maintenance day for the blog and since I didn’t have anything ready to post before the maintenance, I waited till today to make sure all was well. What we are hoping is that those of you who wanted to comment before will actually be able to do so now. Sooo, give it a try so I can see if it works;)
Also, for those who are interested, Card Making 101 will be back next Monday! I have some really fun ideas that I know you will love so be sure to check back on Monday! Remember, all you need is paper, ink and stamps to make cards that you will be proud to send!
Let’s get started with our totally awesome cards from last week’s party…
This card won rave reviews from the ladies! Thanks to a great design by Tamie Ackerson! I wanted to focus on the Hello Cupcake stamp set that is FREE with a $50 order (excluding tax and shipping) as part of Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-A-Bration promotion through the end of March! For this design I was able to use two other products that I LOVE…the Gingham Gala 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper AND the oh so versatile and amazing Stitched Rectangle Framelits Dies! I hand cut the frosting for the cupcake and popped it up on Dimensionals to give it…DIMENSION!!!
For this card I wanted to focus on the Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder…now, say that three times real fast! It is truly gorgeous and FREE with a $50 order until the end of the month! Now, before I forget, this card and the next two were designed by Ange McKay and CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) by me! If you have never watched a video by Ange, you are missing something! She is truly fun to watch and very talented as well!
This first version is just running the embossing folder through the Big Shot…easy, peasy! Nothing fancy but very pretty! And did you notice the butterflies??? Yes, I am still obsessed with the Butterfly Gala Bundle (sooo popular the punch sold out but it will be back in April…Yay!)
On this card, I inked the embossing folder so the debossed areas have the ink and the raised areas are just the color of the paper. And can you see the subtle embossing on the Basic Gray layer? That was made using the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder! It just adds a little something without taking away from the Country Floral embossed piece. For both cards I embossed a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Petal Pink card stock then cut out the center with one of the Stitched Rectangle Framelits Dies (did I mention that I LOVE those dies???). If you center nice and straight, you end up with a beautiful frame which I used on the next card. I know you’re getting tired of me mentioning FREE but the sentiment I used on the card above is from the Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Part of My Story and is FREE with a $50 order also. I punched it out using the limited edition Story Label Punch that fits all the sentiments in the Party of My Story stamp set perfectly. I also like that the punch works for a man or woman.
The ladies took their embossed frame home to use on a card of their choice. I made mine as shown in Ange’s video! I used Wink of Stella on all three cards to add some shimmer and shine to the raised portions of the embossed Petal Pink layer and to some of the butterflies! What do you think of this envelope? Would you like to see that arrive in your mailbox??? I would and will be embossing the flaps on more of my envelopes! Yes, it will get a little squished in the mail but I received one done like this and it was still VERY pretty!
Remember, Sale-A-Bration ends March 31 so if you want to get in on some FREE products, be sure to check out my Stampin’ Up! website. And, be sure to leave a comment to let me know what you think of these cards and that my comment gadget is working!
Thank you for stopping by! Please come back tomorrow for What’s for Dinner Mrs. Skinner!!!
