Painted Lavender Pop-up Card

I love fun fold cards! There is something about the challenge and then the finished project that just has me all happy!!! The card today was cha a happy card to make and I was making it for one of my friends which made it even better.

The finished card is 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.

When you untie the bow and open you get this pop-up WOW effect!!!

And since I am almost always late, the sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set was perfect!

Are you ready to find out how I made this card???

CARD RECIPE

Supplies:

Stamps: Lovely Lavender and Something Fancy

Paper: Highland Heather and Basic White card stock; Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper

Ink: Highland Heather, Shaded Spruce and Memento Tuxedo Black

Other: Deckled Circles Dies, Evening Evergreen Windowpane Checked Ribbon (retired); Purple Fine Shimmer Gems

Assembly:

  1. Cut Highland Heather cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ on each side (you will have four 4 1/4″ squares). Now score diagonally through two squares. Now you have 2 squares and 4 triangles. Fold and burnish all score lines. Fold the two diagonal score lines to the inside and burnish.
  2. Cut Designer Series paper…one piece 4″ x 4″ for front; one piece 4″ x 4″ for inside; two pieces 4″ x 4″ and then cut them diagonally to make 4 triangles. Mix and match the Designer Series Paper as suits your fancy.
  3. Cut one piece of Basic White cardstock for your sentiment square. Stamp lavender sprig, butterflies and sentiment.
  4. For front panel of card, lay piece of ribbon (approximately 20″) across front and back with ends facing the right hand side for opening. Glue ribbon to front. Now glue front piece of Designer Series Paper to front on top of ribbon.
  5. Cut 3″ Deckled Circle out of Basic White cardstock. Stamp leaves on the Deckled Circle (I stamped full strength and then stamped off to make lighter). Stamp lavender bouquet and stems on separate piece of Basic White card stock and cut out by hand (the dies were not available when I purchased my stamp set but should be now). Glue stems to Deckled Circle and then use Dimensionals to mount bouquet. Use glue dot to mount butterfly.
  6. For inside glue Designer Series Paper square and triangles in place. Glue Sentiment Panel in place.
  7. Fold and tie a bow.
