Today’s card design is thanks to Terri Gaines at Create with Terri Gaines. She has some amazing designs and I enjoy re-creating some of her fun fold cards…like this one. Because the base card design is Terri’s I won’t be giving measurements. However, you can watch her video and learn exactly how to make this card.
Please let me apologize for the photos…we have a very dreary day here and the lighting wasn’t great where I usually photograph my cards. Who knew we would get snow in April?!!! What can I say, “the best laid plans of mice and men…” But, the show must go on! LOL
When I started working on this card there were three things I knew…
- I wanted to use Terri’s design
- I wanted to use the Latte Love Bundle and A Little Latte Designer Series Paper
- I wanted to incorporate Calypso Coral into the card
This card has a lot of bulk so it’s best to not use embellishments or dimensionals on the inside layers of the card but I did pop up the center cup on the front and added sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins. Sequins are the perfect embellishment when you want a little bling but not the added bulk.
The cups on the front were cut out of the Designer Series Paper using a die from the Latte Love Dies…easy peasy!
The Lost Lagoon cup was fussy cut from the Designer Series Paper and the sentiment was cut out using the Double Oval Punch.
I stamped some coffee splatters and coffee beans from the Latte Love stamp set on the envelope. The coffee splatters are stamped in Pecan Pie but I stamped off once before stamping on the envelope…I think it looks more realistic. The cup on the envelope was die cut from the Designer Series Paper using
I love the coffee beans and spatters in the stamp set. I think it added a lot to the card and envelope, don’t you think? Funny story (well, not so funny at the time), I was working on this card, had all the pieces cut out, and had a beverage sitting on my desk. You see where this is going, right?!!! I bumped my beverage and spilled it on my pile of cut out card parts! Fortunately, it only soaked a piece of white cardstock; the rest was okay with a little dabbing and drying. Do you create with a beverage on your worktable? Lesson learned, right? Well, till next time anyway.
For this card I used:
Stamps: Latte Love
Paper: Early Espresso, Pecan Pie, Calypso Coral, and Basic White Cardstock; A Little Latte Designer Series Paper
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Countryside Corners dies, Latte Love dies, Double Oval Punch, Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins, Early Espresso Stampin’ Blends
I hope you enjoyed this super fun fold card today. Please leave me a comment to let me know what you think.
Love love love it!!!
You know how I love fun folds! It was a fun one, for sure!
