Card Ministry 101 — Yes You Can!

Recently I was showing a fellow carmaker some of my recent card creations. She said they were beautiful but she would never be able to make truly beautiful cards because she doesn’t have all the “tools”! By tools she meant a die cutting machine, dies, punches, etc. So I decided to take some of my favorite cards and recreate them without using the special tools! Come to find out the cards are still beautiful and Yes, You Can too!

The other day I decided to CASE (copy and share everything) a card created by Ange McKay at North Shore Stamper. This is the card I made following her on YouTube using the Bloom by Bloom stamp set! Oh my howdy! I love this stamp set!!! And all the coordinating supplies are bright and fun and truly remind me of the late 60s and early 70s!

Thanks Ange! This card was really fun to make! So fun that I created ten of them!!! So, I decided to see how I could create this card without punches, dies or even “bling”!

See how similar it looks! Almost can’t tell the difference unless you look really close!

On the Call Me Clover (green) layer, I wanted to create some dimension like I had created with an embossing folder on the first card so I stamped images on this layer with Call Me Clover ink. For this card I did not use dies to cut the rectangles and I did not use any Dimensionals to pop layers up.

It’s fun to carry the design over to the inside and onto the envelope! These simple elements make the card’s recipient feel extra special when they receive you card! My mail carrier told me she loves seeing my envelopes come through the mail! Hmmm…maybe she needs a card of her own!

How did I do creating a card that anyone can make with stamps, ink and paper?
